Chilled Pear and Pumpkin Soup

Moistens the lungs, cools dryness, nourishes lung-yin, soothes the throat

Ingrediënten

  • 2 ripe pears (peeled, cored, cubed)
  • 300g pumpkin (cubed)
  • 10g white lily bulb (Bai He)
  • 5 jujube dates (pitted)
  • 1 liter water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Optional: 1 cinnamon stick

Bereiding

  1. Combine all ingredients except honey with water in a pot.
  2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, let cool to room temperature.
  4. Blend with an immersion blender until smooth.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  6. Stir in honey before serving.
  7. Serve chilled.

Gebruiksadvies

Eat as a dessert or light meal during dryness symptoms. Serve chilled. Preferably in autumn or during warm weather. Very suitable for acute dryness.

Contra-indicaties

Not for use with spleen-qi deficiency, loose stools, cold in the body, or during menstruation.
