Ginger Cinnamon Onion Tea with Honey

Ingrediënten
- 5 cm fresh ginger (sliced thin)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 small onion (in rings)
- 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1 tsp black peppercorns (freshly ground)
- 5 cloves
- 3 tbsp raw honey
- 750 ml water
- Optional: 1 tbsp lemon juice
Bereiding
- Combine ginger, cinnamon sticks, onion, garlic, black pepper and cloves in a pot.
- Add water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
- Strain the tea through a fine sieve into a cup or teapot.
- Stir in honey until dissolved. Add lemon juice if desired.
- Serve immediately hot and drink slowly in small sips.
Gebruiksadvies
Drink 2-3 cups per day at the first signs of a cold. Serve hot. Preferably drink in the morning and evening. After drinking, rest quietly or go to bed to promote sweating.
Contra-indicaties
Not for use with high fever with red throat and thirst, acute sore throat with yellow discharge, pregnancy (large amounts), or excessive heat.
