Ginger Cinnamon Onion Tea with Honey

Ingrediënten

  • 5 cm fresh ginger (sliced thin)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 small onion (in rings)
  • 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns (freshly ground)
  • 5 cloves
  • 3 tbsp raw honey
  • 750 ml water
  • Optional: 1 tbsp lemon juice

Bereiding

  1. Combine ginger, cinnamon sticks, onion, garlic, black pepper and cloves in a pot.
  2. Add water and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea through a fine sieve into a cup or teapot.
  5. Stir in honey until dissolved. Add lemon juice if desired.
  6. Serve immediately hot and drink slowly in small sips.

Gebruiksadvies

Drink 2-3 cups per day at the first signs of a cold. Serve hot. Preferably drink in the morning and evening. After drinking, rest quietly or go to bed to promote sweating.

Contra-indicaties

Not for use with high fever with red throat and thirst, acute sore throat with yellow discharge, pregnancy (large amounts), or excessive heat.
