Ginger Garlic Miso Soup with Black Sesame
Warms the spleen and stomach, moves Qi and blood, resolves stasis, strengthens the kidney essence

Ingrediënten
- 4 cups vegetable broth (800 ml)
- 3 tbsp white or yellow miso paste
- 6 cm fresh ginger (grated)
- 6 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp black peppercorns (freshly ground)
- 2 spring onions (sliced)
- 100g silken tofu (cubed)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- Optional: 1 tsp chili flakes (for extra circulation)
- Optional: wakame seaweed (handful)
Bereiding
- Heat coconut oil in a soup pot over medium heat.
- Add ginger and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant, do not brown.
- Add black pepper and stir briefly.
- Pour in vegetable broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low. Place miso paste in a small bowl, add a ladle of warm broth and stir until smooth. Pour back into the soup.
- Add optional wakame and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Add tofu cubes and heat gently.
- Toast black sesame seeds briefly in a dry pan (1 minute).
- Garnish with spring onions, toasted black sesame seeds and optional chili flakes.
- Serve immediately hot.
Gebruiksadvies
Eat as a light meal or appetizer, 3-4 times per week. Serve hot. Preferably eat in the morning or afternoon for optimal support of the spleen and stomach meridians. Very suitable for cold weather.
Contra-indicaties
Not for use with excessive heat with thirst and dry mouth, acute viral infections with high fever, pregnancy (large amounts of ginger), or high blood pressure (watch salt in miso).
