Lotus Seed and Lily Bulb Calming Tea

Clears heart fire, calms the spirit, reduces restlessness, promotes sleep

Ingrediënten

  • 15g dried lotus seeds (lian zi)
  • 10g dried lily bulb (Bai He)
  • 5g jujube dates (pitted)
  • 2g licorice root (Gan Cao, optional)
  • 600 ml water
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

Bereiding

  1. Rinse lotus seeds and lily bulb briefly under cold water.
  2. Combine all ingredients (except honey) with water in a pot.
  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 20 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea through a fine sieve into a cup.
  5. Add honey to taste if desired.
  6. Serve warm and drink slowly in the evening.

Gebruiksadvies

Drink 1 cup in the evening before bedtime. Serve warm. Preferably drink 1 hour before bedtime for optimal calming effect. Very suitable for stress and overheating.

Contra-indicaties

Not for use with spleen-qi deficiency with diarrhea, cold stomach, or pregnancy.
