Pumpkin Date Congee

Strengthens Spleen Qi, nourishes Blood, harmonizes Middle

Ingrediënten

  • 50g white rice (round grain)
  • 100g pumpkin (peeled, cubed)
  • 5 soft dates (pitted)
  • 600ml water
  • Optional: 3 slices fresh ginger

Bereiding

  1. Wash rice until water runs clear.
  2. Cut pumpkin into small cubes. Cut dates into small pieces.
  3. Bring water to a boil. Add rice, pumpkin and dates.
  4. Simmer gently for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Optional: add ginger for the last 5 minutes.
  6. Serve warm.

Gebruiksadvies

Eat as breakfast or light meal, 3-4 times per week. Serve warm.

Contra-indicaties

Not for use with acute fever, clear Heat symptoms (intense thirst, red tongue), or constipation due to Heat.
