Warming Ginger Fennel Tea

Warms the stomach, expels cold, moves qi, reduces bloating

Ingrediënten

  • 6 cm fresh ginger (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp black peppercorns (freshly ground)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 600 ml water
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)

Bereiding

  1. Combine ginger, fennel seeds, black pepper, cinnamon sticks, cloves and star anise in a pot.
  2. Add water and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea through a fine sieve into a cup or teapot.
  5. Add honey to taste if desired.
  6. Serve immediately hot and drink slowly.

Gebruiksadvies

Drink 1-2 cups per day for stomach discomfort due to cold. Serve hot. Preferably after meals or during acute symptoms. Very suitable after eating cold food.

Contra-indicaties

Not for use with stomach fire, heartburn, yellow tongue coating, or pregnancy (large amounts of fennel).
